We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.
Storytelling is my bread & peanut butter, but coaching is my jam.
Welcome to your MEscape,
an inspirational space where I empower you to dream more, achieve more, and become more. I also throw in snippets of life as an expat and empty nester.
I hope this blog inspires you to
make mind-shift happen – after all, I am a mid-life & travel coach.

ABOUT ME
Allow me to introduce myself. I am an American expat living in Finland. By day, I weave narratives as head of editorial at Vacayou, straddling the intersection of travel and wellness. By night (and weekends), I’m a certified life & travel coach who helps mid-life women take control of their new reality even if they think the best is behind them. In addition to “author” with Get Your Calm OM, I co-host Wine x Wonderlust, retreats designed for those who crave slow travel, bold pours, and soulful exploration.
“It's fun on the surface, deep at the core. A playbook for any busy soul trying to find some solace in this crazy world.”
“I definitely feel like I’m now in a headspace where I can make decisions beyond my comfort zone.”
Do I need to sit on a hill under a tree in lotus position?
Nope! You don’t need to twist yourself into a pretzel to benefit from this playbook. Get Your Calm OM is designed for everyone—whether you’re brand new to mindfulness or have already explored different practices. If you’ve ever thought, “I want to feel more calm and connected, but I’m not really into chanting or endless self-help talk,” this is for you. Maybe your mind feels like there are a million tabs open, and you’re craving a mental “refresh” button. Or maybe life’s good, but something’s missing—a spark, a sense of what’s next. Wherever you are, this playbook meets you there, no lotus position required.
How is this book different from other mindfulness or self-help books?
This book stands out from other mindfulness or self-help books because it's designed to meet you exactly where you are—without the pressure of perfection. Instead of overwhelming advice or rigid routines, it offers practical, no-fuss techniques to help you quiet your mind and navigate life's chaos in a way that feels doable. The focus is on small mindset shifts that actually work—encouraging you to take what you need, when you need it. It's not about a complete life overhaul, but about finding your own rhythm, one small step at a time. Plus, it's a creative experience, inviting you to doodle, explore, and reconnect with what makes you feel grounded—no artistic skills required.
If someone only had 5 minutes a day, what’s one tool from the book they could start with?
GRATITUDE. Seriously, I really think gratitude is like fairy dust — turning what we already have into enough. If you find your mind pinging from place to place, try being appreciative of the good things in your life. Every night, I ask myself these three questions: what did I do for myself, what did I do for someone else, and what am I grateful for? It doesn't have to be complicated. You can even give a silent nod of thanks to your trusty yoga mat or your furry friend. When you practice gratitude on the regular, you become more accepting of “what is” right now.
an intentional pause to ask the questions that matter,
the ones that lead you back to yourself. Ready to peel back the layers and listen to the whispers of who you’ve always been?
I’m with you.
Let’s open the door to your inner calm, and gently uncover the passions and values that have been waiting for your attention.
